Brianne Howey

We caught up with gorgeous actor Brianne Howey in Los Angeles recently, as she was navigating through press for her new Netflix show “Ginny and Georgia” streaming now. She stars as a young mother to Ginny, played by the lovely Antonia Gentry. It’s a fun ride — a very layered, complex adventure that is reminiscent of so many great shows such as Gimore Girls, Euphoria, Desperate Housewives and our favorite Weeds. We swept Brianne into some fun spring beauty looks and a chat about moments in the Ginny and Georgia makeup trailer, her go-to products, newly discovered clean beauty brands and those incredible arches!

The Bare Magazine: Can you share some BTS moments and rituals in the Ginny and Georgia makeup trailer, and a little about your character Georgia's look? Were there any products you loved?

Brianne Howey: Yes! Most mornings started pretty early so we made a ritual out of using Skyn Iceland eye patches and a jade roller both cold and fresh out of the fridge. It’s a trick I’ve taken home with me. All eye patches and jade rollers feel amazing cold! Post lunch we would always spritz with Fresh rose floral toner for a quick pick me up before heading back to set. Georgia is a true chameleon. When we meet her she is straight out of Dallas and embracing rosier cheeks, big lashes and a loud pink lip. By the end of the season she’s assimilated herself into the northeast and opting for more neutrals and less of a done up look. We used a lot of Bare Minerals, Laura Mercier and Shisedo. Long lasting and easy to layer with for long days.

Bare: What are your real life daily product go-to's?

BH: I start with Biologique Recherche face wash and exfoliator, La Mer eye cream and a SkinCeuticals SPF. If it’s a makeup kind of day (which have been rare in quarantine!) I throw on some Nars under eye concealer, Hourglass eyebrow gel, Glossier Lash Stick and a quick swipe of Aquaphor for lips and I’m ready to go!

BareYour eyebrows are stunning! Can you share everything about them...how you like to enhance them and with what?

BH:  Thank you! I love using the Anastasia eyebrow pencil to fill in any tiny patches (The early 2000s were brutal for brows!) I top with Hourglass Arch Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel in a slightly darker color then my actual brow. The tint really helps create that fuller look.

Bare: Have you been experimenting with any new skincare during this past year since having time to play during quarantine? Do you prefer using clean products?

BH: I stumbled upon Asarai earth tones Australian red clay mask and am so glad I did! It’s cleansing and brightening without drying the skin. I also recently discovered, Vegamour, a beautiful and clean product line. A lash serum is something I wouldn’t have taken the time to use before being in quarantine but after trying theirs there is no going back! Experimenting with clean products has always been reassuring, since our skin is so sensitive and everyones varies, you know your skin will love it!

Bare: Are there any actors or iconic beauties that inspire you in with the way they age gracefully and stay true to themselves and their style?

BH: Diane Keaton, Iman and Ellen Burstyn just to name a few. Their minimalist approaches to beauty have always been captivating and admirable to me. They’ve stayed true to themselves in a way that allows us to really see them, they aren’t hiding behind anything and it’s gorgeous. There’s nothing more beautiful than someone comfortable in their own skin.

Bare: What are your top 5 bare essentials...can be anything?

BH: Clarisonic face brush, Paw Paw ointment, Chantecaille eye mask, Prose shampoo and conditioner and Mario Badescu drying lotion. I always travel with these essentials. They get the job done!
