bare: you're so genuine and outspoken - do you function best within the realm of authenticity and realness? is that your comfort zone?

AW: I’ve just never pretended I was something I’m not. I always want to be the same person in real life that you see online. no surprises. I would rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I’m not.

So Awake radiant complexion booster. Cushion Complexion concealer in Nude

bare: what do you love about visiting NYC? what makes LA a preferable place to make your home?

AW: I love visiting NYC because it’s so busy and the complete opposite of what I’m used to. We live in a smaller community where it’s very quiet and we hardly have to leave our bubble. So I love how busy it is in NY, but I couldn’t imagine myself living there. My ideal time staying is usually 3-4 days then I become overstimulated.

bare: can you update us on your current podcast goals and any upcoming dream content you're after?

AW: I would love to make my podcast my full-time job. I still do a lot on social media, but I would love for that to turn into more of a fun way to share my life without the pressure of it being my income. I love how raw and real podcasting is and meeting new people. I would love to branch out into more celebrity interviews and host carpets.

bare: you manage a busy family and work life....do you get time to yourself? how do you create balance and include self-care? what are some favorite indulgences?

AW: It’s a learning curve every day and I feel like I can always improve in some way. I try to slow down as much as I can, keep an organized calendar, avoid procrastinating and manage work/life balance the best I can. Social media never turns off, so I force myself to put my phone down when my kids get home to focus on them. I stick to my routine and dedicate an hour each day to myself with a good workout and it leaves me feeling ready to accomplish the day.

bare: you brought some cute things for our shoot. describe your style and some favorite go-to brands. you have a few pieces that seem to be with you at all times.

AW: I like to collect simple pieces that never go out of style and can be dressed up or down. I also look for comfort being a busy mom and constantly on the move. I love vintage Levi’s because they fit so loose which makes them comfortable, never go out of style and are easy to throw on and match whatever top. I love a vintage designer bag that looks a little rough and big enough to hold my kids’ stuff. I also love a good sneaker.

So Plush Glossy Lip oil in Clear Conscience

bare: what qualities do you think a woman should focus on to be successful? do you think confidence is key? not giving up on dreams?

AW: I totally think confidence is key. Comparing yourself to others is a downhill battle that you’ll never win and social media makes that very hard to avoid. I always say fake it till you make it because confidence is sexy! As far as not giving up on your dreams, you will always get no’s but it’s all about pushing through the rejection. I have failed so many times, but I always get back up and try harder. There is room for everyone to follow their dreams, and life is too short to not do what you love.
